PREP TO HOST FREE SPECIAL EDUCATION WEBINAR
WASHINGTON, D.C., November 21, 2016 — On Wednesday, December 7, the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law’s Parental Readiness and Empowerment Program (PREP) will host a free webinar for parents and advocates on special education.  During the webinar, participants will learn about the special education process and the rights and responsibilities in their child’s special education program.  “PREP is looking forward to providing useful information to both parents and advocates about ways to better access, understand and utilize information and resources for students with special educational needs,” said Natasha Quiroga, PREP manager and senior counsel for the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law’s Educational Opportunities Project.

PREP TENDRÁ WEBINARIO GRATUITO DE EDUCACIÓN ESPECIAL

Washington, D.C. – El miércoles, 7 de diciembre, el Programa de Preparación y Capacitación de Padres (PREP por sus siglas en inglés), una iniciativa del Comité de Abogados para los Derechos Civiles Bajo la Ley, tendrá un webinario gratuito de Abogacía para Padres para padres y defensores. Durante el webinario, los participantes aprenderán acerca del proceso de educación especial y los derechos y las responsabilidades en el programa de educación especial de su hijo/a. Natasha Quiroga, Directora de PREP y Abogada Principal para el Proyecto de Oportunidades Educativas dice, “Esperamos poder proporcionar información útil a padres y defensores acerca de las maneras de acceder, entender y usar la información y los recursos para los estudiantes con necesidades de educación especial.
